Compliance
How we run a home the right way.
The standards every Mai Heaven home is built to operate under — written plainly, so an inspector, a provider, or a family can read them.
Medication management
Medications are stored in locked cabinets. Staff provide assistance where allowed by state regulations. Daily medication-administration-record (MAR) logs are maintained, and we coordinate with pharmacies for refills and medication changes.
Incident reporting
Internal chain: Staff → Supervisor → Administrator. External: the state licensing authority, and APS/DSS when required. Critical incidents include injury, elopement, medication errors, and any concern related to abuse or neglect.
Staff training
All staff complete training in:
- CPR / First Aid
- Abuse and neglect reporting
- De-escalation techniques
- Medication assistance (where allowed)
- Emergency procedures
Resident rights
Residents have the right to dignity, privacy, freedom from restraint, access to their personal records, and a clear grievance process. Full rights and outside contacts: /rights.
Grievance path
1. Report the concern to staff. 2. Supervisor review. 3. Administrator review. 4. External reporting if unresolved — and a resident may go to the state directly at any point, without going through these steps first.
ADA accommodations
We provide mobility accommodations, communication supports, sensory accommodations, and reasonable modifications based on individual need.
Safety systems
As a baseline in every home: smoke/CO detection, marked exits, and evacuation drills on record per shift; medications in a locked box with controlled medications and sharps stored and counted separately; and a visitor sign-in/out log. Full home model: /homes.
For inspectors and auditors
Inspectors may request our policy manual, staff training records, incident logs, and licensing documents. Once a home is operating, its license number is displayed in the home.
