Small-home supported housing in North Carolina

Small, permanent homes with real daily support — being built across NC. Here is plainly what that means, who it is for, and how to refer.

What small-home supported housing means

A small-home model means a handful of residents in a real house, not a 30-bed facility — staffed, structured, and licensed by the state for residential care. Small enough that staff know every resident by name, permanent rather than a program with an end date.

Why Mai Heaven is built differently

Small and permanent

Not transitional. A door that closes behind you, with the same staff and routines over time.

Rights published first

Resident rights are online before we hold a single license — read them and hold us to them.

Built for the hard cases

A history of refusals or a complex profile is a reason we want the referral, not a reason we bounce it.

Who we are being built for

Mai Heaven builds small, permanent supported homes. We are not admitting residents yet. This page tells you what we accept and lets you refer or get notified.

Refer someone, or get the day we open

We hold no operating license in North Carolina yet and cannot place someone today. This page is so you know what we accept, and so you are first to hear. For an immediate need, the crisis and placement numbers are on our resources page.
