How a supported-home bed is funded in Georgia — with the official agency to verify.
In Georgia, the residential support services in a supported home are paid by the New Options Waiver (NOW) and the Comprehensive Supports Waiver Program (COMP), run by DBHDD (there is a planning list/waitlist). Medicaid funds the services; the resident’s SSI pays the room and board. This two-stream model is how a bed gets funded — see Does Medicaid pay for supported homes?

Georgia routes all IDD intake through one access point — the Georgia Collaborative ASO (apply via the IDD Connects portal or your DBHDD Regional Field Office; main line (404) 657-2252). The planning list is needs-based, not first-come, and you must have Medicaid first. New waiver slots are added only as the legislature funds them.
