In Arizona, the residential support services in a supported home are paid by the Arizona Long Term Care System (ALTCS) — an entitlement, so there is no multi-year waitlist for those who qualify; IDD services run through DES/DDD. Arizona is a rare no-waitlist entitlement state: if you meet the clinical (nursing-facility level of care) and financial bars, ALTCS services are an entitlement — no interest list. Two agencies handle it: DES Division of Developmental Disabilities, 1-844-770-9500 (developmental-disability eligibility) and AHCCCS / ALTCS, 1-800-654-8713 (medical & financial). Note: being DDD-eligible does not automatically make you ALTCS-eligible — you must need an institutional level of care.
